ABSTRACT: Mankind has always been fascinated by how the mind works and by the idea of creating intelligent machines. It is impossible to elaborate any field of knowledge as broad as Artificial Intelligence in a few pages.  Here we present a general view of AI accompanied with some demos of the research results in the field and shall try to address some broad claim such as “Can machines really think the way humans do?”  Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the area of computer science focusing on creating machines that can engage on behaviors that humans consider intelligent. The ability to create intelligent machines has intrigued humans since ancient times, and today with the advent of the computer and 50 years of research into AI programming techniques, the dream of smart machines is becoming a reality. Researchers are creating systems which can mimic human thought, understand speech, beat the best human chess player, and countless other feats never before possible. In the following document to be presented, we would like to throw light on the brief introduction, the origin, branches in regard to logical AI, pattern recognition, learning from experience and few others & applications in expert systems, fuzzy logic, neural networks &many more .
